The Search for Finding Joy

This past week I had been going non-stop. Never taking a break. Studying. Class. Sorority. Shiloh. Eat. Sleep some. And Repeat.
I was tired of routine. I was tired of just going through the motions of life.
I needed something.
I felt an emptiness.
Why did I feel this way? I was happy, but not Joyful. There is a difference.
I started praying to God to give me unending JOY. Ohh and did He bring it.
I was driving from Panera to go see a movie, Courageous, and I turned up the volume in my car. I listened to a song called Where I Belong by Cory Asbury. There is one part where I just lost it. Tears running down my face because singing to the Lord made life so much better. I could feel His GLORIFYING PRESENCE! He gave me JOY!! From listening to one song, it captivated me in a new way. I couldn't stop smiling. Since then, I have been not just happy with my life, but JOYFUL.
The next day, I read in Jesus Calling...Guess what it was about? JOY! Crazy, right?
Here's a great quote from the passage, "Let your primary focus be communing with Me, worshipping Me, glorifying Me. Then you will be able to SMILE at others with MY JOY and LOVE them with MY LOVE."
God's JOY is ALWAYS attainable. Just Ask Him.
